For Lyndsay and Matthew Brentlinger from the United States, the pregnancy started like a dream: twins! But what began as overwhelming joy was soon overshadowed by devastating news – doctors had discovered a serious heart defect in one of the babies in the womb. William would not survive after birth.
Just days before Christmas 2016, the moment came. Both babies were born looking healthy. Both weighed around 2.3 kilograms. And yet Lyndsay and Matthew knew: their time with William was limited.
