🐶 DogsHe wanted one last adventure with his dying dog – so he pushed him up the mountain in a wheelbarrow
Monty could no longer walk. But Carlos Fresco was determined to grant his terminally ill labradoodle one final shared wish – and found an unusual, heartbreakingly beautiful way to do it.
A diagnosis that changed everything
Some goodbyes weigh heavier than anything else. For Carlos Fresco from Britain, it was saying farewell to Monty – his ten-year-old labradoodle, who had accompanied him on countless hikes and adventures for over a decade.

Monty wasn't just a pet. He was Carlos's loyal companion, his buddy for every outing, his shadow on every trail. Wherever Carlos went, Monty was there too. But then came the diagnosis that changed everything: leukaemia.
«I knew Monty was going to die when the cancer came back», Carlos said. «The first diagnosis came 18 months ago and he responded well to chemotherapy. But sadly the leukaemia returned eight weeks ago – and he deteriorated very quickly.»
When it became clear that Monty's days were numbered, a resolve grew in Carlos: he wanted to share one single, final adventure with his beloved dog. A dignified farewell in a place that meant something special to them both.
