In up to 50°C heat in Saudi Arabia, a thirsty stray cat stood at a shop's glass door and asked to be let in. Shopkeeper Rayan didn't hesitate – and the video moved millions.
A cat asks to come in
It's high summer, and as temperatures climb, we all try to beat the heat somehow. But not everyone has a place to shelter from the burning sun – least of all stray animals.
Rayan Algamadi from Saudi Arabia shared a video on TikTok showing a stray cat outside his electronics shop: she stood up against the glass door, reached up and practically begged to be let in. Saudi Arabia was especially hot at the time – reports say the heatwave reached up to 50°C.
Rayan did the only right thing and let the cat in. «Come in, welcome,» he told the stray. «The sun is hot today, isn't it?»
