🐱 CatsFound meowing alone in a front yard – now this kitten has siblings and a dog as a foster mom
A tiny tortie kitten was the only survivor of a litter left behind in a front yard. Today, Mrs. Norris has a whole patchwork family – including a big dog who watches over her.
A lonely meow in a front yard
It was a faint, desperate meowing that made a Good Samaritan in Arizona stop and listen. Someone had left an entire litter of newborn kittens behind in his front yard. But when he looked, only one tiny fur baby was still alive – a little tortie whose cries had led him to her in the first place.
The finder didn't hesitate. He took the kitten into his home, fed her through the night, and the next morning reached out to his local rescue, Jin's Bottle Babies Rescue. «He did an awesome job – keeping a newborn kitten alive overnight isn't an easy feat,» Shelbi Uyehara, cofounder of the rescue, told Love Meow.

The palm-sized kitten was named Mrs. Norris – and from the very first moment, she showed an incredible will to live. «She was between 24 and 36 hours old, already eating and purring like a dream,» Shelbi said.
It quickly became clear, though, that the little one hadn't received any milk from her cat mom – and therefore none of the vital first milk (known as colostrum) that supplies newborns with antibodies. Mrs. Norris soon began to show signs of an infection and gut issues.
