Sinclair's story is one of unimaginable pain, of unshakeable resilience – and of the healing power of love. It began in February 2021, when the young dog was found as a stray in Texas.
Abandoned and badly injured, Sinclair lay in a field, helpless and utterly alone. The sight was heartbreaking: severe wounds, an advanced skin disease and clear signs of abuse. Hypothermic, starved and dehydrated, his chances of survival seemed vanishingly small. A compassionate stranger stopped, picked him up and brought him to the Waco animal shelter.
From there the rescue New York Bully Crew took him in. It was the worst case of mange the experienced helpers had ever seen. «Countless people messaged us telling us to put Sinclair down,» the organisation recalls. «But we knew Sinclair was a fighter – and that we could never give up on him.»
At the emergency vet, his condition was dire. His skin was so badly damaged that even basic care, like administering fluids, was nearly impossible. The vets genuinely feared for his life.
